Mr. Philip Halperin has been a Member of the Supervisory Board since 2005.
With Alfa-Bank since 1999, Philip Halperin is Director of Risk Management at Alfa-Bank Russia and is responsible for all market, credit and operational risk management. Before joining the Bank, he was Head of Risk Management at Refco Overseas Ltd in London. He also worked as risk manager, trading manager, and options trader at Refco Group Ltd in New York, reporting directly to one of the three shareholders. In this capacity, he wrote one of the first large parametric risk management systems.
Philip Halperin was a featured speaker at Operational Risk 2004 in London and the 2005 Global Risk Summit Conference in Monaco. He has given seminars in strategic risk management and options for PRMIA (Moscow), Euromoney (London), co-authored Worldly Wisdom, which is a periodic derivatives advice column in Futures and OTC World, and maintains a risk management website.
Philip Halperin followed a PhD course in business administration at Columbia University and has a Masters Degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University School of Organization and Management, as well as a BA from Yale College. He was born in the United States in 1952.
