Ernest Galiev appointed to the Supervisory Board of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine)

On April 28, General Meeting of the Shareholders of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) decided to appoint Ernest Galiev to the Bank’s Supervisory Board as Independent Director. Thus, the Supervisory Board of the Bank was expanded from six to seven members.

As Independent Director, Mr. Galiev will render his consultancy services and provide members of the Supervisory Board with independent expert opinion. Position of Independent Director in the Supervisory Board is in line with the world’s best practices of corporate management, the standards of Alfa Group and the Group’s Banking Holding. Thus, Independent Directors are also represented in the Supervisory Boards of Alfa-Bank (Russia) and Amsterdam Trade Bank N.V. (the Netherlands). This position is designed to ensure independent view on current activities of the Banks.

Ernest Galiev graduated from Kharkiv National University of Economics and received academic degree Candidate of economic sciences. In 1993, Mr. Galiev started his career with JSCIB UkrSibbank, in 1996, he was elected Vice-President of JSCIB UkrSibbank. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Galiev was a People’s deputy of Ukraine of the 4th convocation. From 2006 to 2009, Ernest Galiev worked as a Member of the Supervisory Board of JSCIB UkrSibbank.
